get to know me
Hey, I’m nik nichols—founder of wulu wellness…
I didn’t arrive in wellness overnight.
My journey began in science, studying biology and public health, working in environmental systems, and understanding how everything is interconnected. But the more I learned about ecosystems, the more I began to notice something else: we are ecosystems too.
Our bodies.
Our emotions.
Our births.
Our healing.
Yoga entered my life as a personal practice and slowly became a calling. It taught me presence. It taught me reverence. It taught me how powerful it is to feel at home in your own body.
Birth work deepened that calling. Supporting someone through pregnancy, labour, and postpartum is sacred. It is vulnerable, powerful, and transformative. It deserves informed advocacy, steady support, and deep compassion.
Today, I blend science and intuition. Structure and softness. Movement and stillness.
Wulu Wellness exists to create spaces where you feel grounded, capable, and deeply supported, whether you’re stepping onto your mat or stepping into parenthood.
This work isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about walking beside you.
What LED ME HERE?
My path into this work began long before I ever called myself a doula or a yoga instructor.
I have always felt a natural pull toward caring for others. As a teenager, I babysat, taught dance to young children, and felt completely at home supporting families. That nurturing energy has always been part of who I am.
At the same time, I found myself equally drawn to the other end of the life spectrum, the elderly. Our dance studio grandmother, who helped at the front desk, loved to share her stories, and over time shared the same ones as she developed Alzheimer’s. I could still tell you her favourites with the same amount of detail as her, because I listened as if it were the first time, every time. That experience taught me patience, dignity, and the power of presence.
I began my undergraduate studies in kinesiology, later transitioning into biology to better understand the body, plant medicine, and psychology. After graduating, I worked as an IBI therapist supporting children on the autism spectrum, where I deepened my ability to meet people exactly where they are.
Around the same time, I began teaching yoga. Through breath and movement, I saw how powerful it is when someone feels informed, steady, and supported in their own body.
Over time, everything came together. My love of science, my respect for the body, and my heart for supporting people through meaningful seasons of life led me here.
Today, whether I am guiding a class or holding space in birth and postpartum, my intention remains the same. To help you feel confident, grounded, and supported.

As my yoga practice evolved, I began to notice more pregnant people joining my classes. I was fascinated by the mental, physical, and emotional changes they were navigating and felt a strong pull to support them in a deeper way. That calling led to taking a prenatal yoga course, which then led to doula work, a place where everything I value about compassion, education, and empowerment comes together.
My goal is to bring calmness into chaos. I want birthing people to feel grounded and safe enough to take a breath before making choices, to feel informed, and to trust themselves fully.
-
I bring a blend of intuitive care, evidence-based knowledge, and mindfulness practices to every birth space. Whether that’s through movement, meditation, or simply being a steady, reassuring presence, I’m here to help you feel calm, supported, and confident.
Every journey unfolds in its own way, and it’s an honour to walk beside each family through theirs every step of the way.
-
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me outdoors, either camping under the stars, hiking through the mountains, or skating or snowboarding with my husband. More often than not, I’m also on my mat, teaching or practicing yoga, moving with intention, and reconnecting with myself.
I love capturing life’s beauty through photography, exploring new places, and saying yes to meaningful adventures whenever I can. Time with friends and family is something I cherish deeply, especially when it involves a cozy cottage evening and a good game of cards! At home, our dog and cat are constant sources of joy and affection, and I make sure they get all the love (and cuddles) they deserve.
I believe that the things that fill our lives with joy, connection, and play also make us better at supporting others. I carry that same grounded, heart-centred energy into everything I do, in life, in yoga, and in every birth space I’m part of.

If you’d like to set up a free Meet & Greet, I’d love to hear your story and explore how I can support you in your birthing journey.
Dream it ✨
Every birth begins with a vision… a feeling, a hope, a dream for how you want to welcome new life. My role is to help you honour that vision… to hold space for your wishes, your instincts, and your unique rhythm as you prepare for what’s to come. Together, we dream not of a “perfect” birth, but of one that feels authentically yours.
Build it 🌿
From vision to reality, together we build your experience with calm intention… one breath, one choice, one moment at a time. Through education, presence, and care, I help you lay the foundation for your birth and/or postpartum journey rooted in trust, confidence, and connection.
LIVE it 🌻
When the moment arrives, your journey unfolds… raw, real, and entirely your own. This is where wuluku comes to life: your experience, your rhythm, your becoming. My role is simply to walk beside you, reminding you that you already hold the strength and wisdom you need. Together, we breathe, trust, and let it all bloom… just as it’s meant to.
